Craig Gildner’s ABW All Stars, featuring the Midiri Brothers
Friday Night’s Band
Photography by Bobby Bonsey
Washington DC bandleader and lindy hopper Craig Gildner has put together an incredible quintet for Friday night’s dance. The All Stars are comprised of Joe Midiri-clarinet, Paul Midiri-vibraphone, Alan Dale-drums, Kurt Krahnke-bass, and Craig Gildner-piano and guitar. Joe, Paul and Alan have spent much of their careers studying and playing the music of the Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw and Lionel Hampton small groups. To make it even more of a dancer’s band, the tune list will contain songs suggested by the staff and participants of ABW.

The Mint Julep Jazz Band
Saturday Night’s Band
With their little big band lineup of 4 horns, rhythm section, and vocalist, the Mint Julep Jazz Band recreates the jazz sounds of the 1920′s, 1930′s, and early 1940’s through arrangements based on original recordings from the jazz age and swing era.
The Mint Julep Jazz Band is based out of Durham, NC and is led by trombonist Lucian Cobb and vocalist/swing DJ Laura Windley, who have put their collective knowledge and love of swing music together to create an ideal dance band for swing dancers.
